One Photo, One Story: A New Brightside Brevard Feature Starts Now
Send Brightside Brevard one photo you took on the Space Coast and 100–200 words about why that moment or place matters to you.
Brightside Brevard is starting a community feature built around the simplest possible assignment: one photo and one true story.
You send a photograph you took somewhere in Brevard County, plus 100 to 200 words explaining what it shows and why it matters to you. You do not need a professional camera or a polished essay.
The kinds of moments we mean
Maybe it is the pier before sunrise, your child's first fish off a dock, an old storefront your family remembers, a rocket reflected in the river or the afternoon light falling across a neighborhood you love.
Those pictures make the Space Coast feel like a home rather than a location. They also let readers see familiar places through somebody else's memory.

How to submit
Use Brightside Brevard's Submit a Story form and include:
- One photograph you took yourself in Brevard County.
- A 100- to 200-word story about the image.
- Your name, or the name you want published.
- The approximate date and location where the photo was taken.
Please submit only photographs you own and have permission to publish. When people are clearly identifiable, especially children, make sure you have their permission or that of a parent or guardian.
A sample story: the pier at first light
Before the shops open, the Cocoa Beach Pier belongs to fishermen, surfers and whoever arrived early enough to watch the gray sky turn pink. Coffee cools beside tackle carts. Boards move through the water on either side of the pilings. On launch mornings, chairs begin pointing north.
The pier is not complicated. It is wood, salt air and a long walk over the waves. That is exactly why one ordinary sunrise there can hold so much of what people remember about the Space Coast.
