Brevard's New School Explorer Could Make Choosing a School Much Easier
Brevard Public Schools has launched an interactive dashboard for exploring schools, attendance areas and future planning in one place.

Brevard Public Schools has created a new District Exploration Dashboard designed to help families explore how schools are serving students today and what district planning may look like in the future.
For a parent trying to understand attendance zones, compare nearby schools or make sense of a school-choice decision, having the information gathered into an interactive map is a meaningful improvement over hunting through separate PDFs and department pages.
Start with an address
The district also maintains an interactive school-zone locator and school profiles. Together, the tools can help a family:
- Look up the school assigned to a home address.
- View attendance boundaries and nearby campuses.
- Open a school profile for more context.
- Explore districtwide planning information before calling the enrollment or school-choice office with follow-up questions.
The dashboard does not replace the district's formal choice application, registration rules or current attendance-boundary documents. It gives families a clearer place to begin.

A map cannot tell you everything
School grades, enrollment data and boundaries are useful, but they do not tell a family how a child will feel in a classroom, whether a particular club is a good fit or how a school's daily schedule works with a parent's job.
That makes the dashboard most useful as a question generator rather than a final verdict. Pull up the facts, then visit the school, review its current programs and speak with the district when a choice or boundary question matters.
Attendance lines can also change as enrollment and building capacity change. Families making a long-term decision should treat any map as a current snapshot and confirm details for the school year in question.
